Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev is a Hindu spiritual television drama series which airs on Life OK channel. It premiered on 18 December, 2011 and showcases the story of Lord Shiva, also called as Mahadev.
The drama is inspired by the works of Devdutt Pattanaik. The story has been researched from Bodhisattva and has been penned up by Mihir Bhuta.
Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev is the story of the Hindu God Shiva, also called as Mahadev. The show portrays his journey from a hermit to a house holder. In the show Shiva takes many incarnations and many incidents take place. However, this plot mentions only the major events.
The story starts with the tale of Shiva's marriage with Sati. Sati who is the daughter of Prajapati Daksha, a staunch Vishnu devotee, is drawn towards Shiva against the wishes of her father. She finally marries Shiva, but soon dies by self-immolation when her husband is insulted at the yajna of Daksha. The grief-striken Shiva produces Virabhadra, who slays Daksha, however he restores Daksha's life after beseeching of Daksha's wife. A distraught Shiva leaves with burnt corpse of Sati and wanders the universe. Vishnu severs the body into pieces, shattering them on earth. Shiva transforms the pieces into Shakti Peethas, embodiments of the power of the Goddess Adi Shakti.
Sati is reborn as Parvati, the daughter of Himavan, king of the Himalayas and Mainavati. She is also the sister of the river-goddess, Ganga. Parvati is raised in the hermitage of the Shiva devotee sage Dadhichi, who teaches her devotion to Shiva. Parvati grows up and like Sati, is captivated by Shiva. She slowly remembers her past life, then wins Shiva by her austerities leading to their marriage.
Shiva and Parvati give birth to Kartikeya, who slays the demon Tarakasura and his brothers. Kartikeya is also nominated for the throne of the King of Devas but Shiva asks Indra to continue as the king. After this Kartikeya is sent to the Dakshin (south) where he is cared by Meenakshi and here he slays the demon (asura), Tripath with her help. The story goes on with the tale of the destruction of Tripura, belonging to the revengeful sons of Tarakasura, who were earlier given boons by Shiva. And just before the destruction of the Tripura, Shiva and Parvati's daughter, Ashoksundari is born.
After the destruction of Tripura, except Lord Indra (the King of Devas) everyone congratulate Shiva for destructing Tripura and also for being the father of Ashokasundari. Rishi Durvasa gives him a special garland, which Shiva gave Narada as prasadam. When given Lord Indra accepts the garland placing it on the trunk of his elephant, Airavata to proof that he is egoistic throws it. This enrages the sage and he curses Indra and evryone to be bereft of all wealth and fortune. Soon later to take revenge on the destruction of Tripura, King Bali attacks heaven and in attempt to steal Amrita (nectar of immortality). But it falls into the Ocean of milk. To get the Amrit back Devas join hands with Asuras to churn the ocean for the Amrita and to share it among them.
The churning of the ocean, known as Samudra Manthan is an elaborate process. In the process the Devas disadvantage the Asuras in many ways. Despite this, they churn the ocean. In the process Lord Vishnu also takes his second incarnation of a turtle, Kurma.
The process releases a number of things from the ocean. One product is the lethal poison known as Halahala. This could contaminate the ocean and destroy all of creation. To save everyone Lord Shiva inhales the poison in an act of self-sacrifice but Parvati rescues him by pressing his neck to stop the poison from spreading. As a result, the color of Lord Shiva's neck turns blue. During the churning many things are obtained from the ocean which includes Lakshmi, the Goddess of fortune and wealth, who is the eternal consort of Vishnu. Thus, everyone gets their wealth and fortune back. Later Vishnu takes the Amrita secretly from the Asuras and distributes it among the Devas.
The story takes some years leap after which it is shown that Kartikeya has been removed from the post of Senapati(head of the army), which pleases Indra and for the first time after so many years, a grown-up Ashoksundari meets Kartikeya. Kartikeya also meets his parents. He enlightens Ashoksundari about meditation and she inspired by it so much that she renounces her life to meditate, which disturbs Parvati.
Looking at the ill happening of the world, of how Ahalya is seduced by Indra, Mahadev come indside. Even after Mahadev tells that he is his father and many other gods tried to tell him, he still refuses. Mahadev got angry and cut Vinayak's head.
Women are disappearing without a trace in Rajasthan and nobody seems surprised. But police officer Anjali Bhaati notices a similarity in the cases: long nightly phone calls and a boyfriend that no one in the neighbourhood has ever seen.

Episode 1: Fighting Rape 对抗强暴
The first episode of Satyamev Jayate Season 2, telecast on March 2, 2014, dealt with the issue of rape and underlined several systemic factors that act as roadblocks on the path to justice for survivors.
The Vote for Change campaign for this episode centred around three focal points:
The setting up of One-Stop Crisis Centres in every district of India as per the guidelines recommended by the Justice Usha Mehra Commission.
The creation of Vulnerable Witness Deposition Courtrooms across the country.
A gender-sensitive, scientific and humane protocol for the medical examination of survivors of rape, to be uniformly implemented across the country.
Episode 2: Police 警察
On March 9, 2014, the second episode was telecast and it dealt with the need for reforms in the police. In 21st century India, the system of policing is still by and large within the framework of the 1861 Police Act introduced during the colonial British Raj. The police continues to be a ruler’s police rather than a people’s police.
The Vote for Change campaign for this episode urged citizens to support the demand that the 2006 judgment of the Supreme Court in the case filed by former DGP, UP, Shri Prakash Singh be implemented and a people-friendly police force be created.
Episode 3: Don’t Waste Your Garbage 不要看浪费你的垃圾
The third episode of Satyamev Jayate, telecast on March 16, 2014, dealt with one of the most shameful problems persisting in our cities and towns, viz: garbage and the scandalous state of solid waste management.
The Vote for Change campaign for this episode called upon people to support the demand that incinerator technology for burning waste be opposed and that state governments and union territories work towards implementing the Municipal Solid Wastes (Management and Handling) Rules, 2000.
Episode 4: Kings Every Day 我自君王，每日
Telecast on March 23, 2014, the fourth episode dealt with the need for strengthening grassroots democracy and in particular, highlighted important measures to help fight corruption and increase public participation in governance.
The Vote for Change campaign for this episode urged citizens to lend their support to the demand for social audits of the government’s expenditure on social welfare, and the passing of the Public Services Grievances Bill which will help ensure that essential services are delivered in a time-bound manner to citizens.
Episode 5: Criminalization of Politics 政策犯罪
Satyamev Jayate’s fifth episode, telecast on March 30 2014, dealt with the rampant criminalization of politics in our country.
The Vote for Change campaign for this episode called upon people to support the demand that the proposal of the Election Commission to debar candidates with serious criminal charges (with appropriate safeguards) is brought into effect and such candidates are not allowed to contest elections.

The story begins in 1996 when Colonel Sodhi, now 70, visits his sister and her family. However, even after over half a century, the nightmares of his intense battle and its aftermath often return to haunt him. Old Sodhi and young Amar begin to bond and Sodhi accompanies Amar to Burma (Myanmar) for an assignment from BBC to shoot a documentary on the students against the Military Junta for freedom and democracy. In Singapore, Sodhi visits the places which bring back the memories of him as a Lieutenant in the British Indian Army Lt. Sodhi meets a beautiful photographer Maya who inspires him to change. Sodhi falls in love with Maya who joins the Indian National Army. Old Sodhi lands in Burma with Amar, and is welcomed by an Indian girl Rani. They accidentally get caught in the student protest and firing by the Military Junta to suppress the student agitation. When the soldiers of the Military Junta get rough and violent with Amar and Rani, old Sodhi is suddenly transformed into the young Lt.Sodhi and kills the two Burmese soldiers to defend his group.Old Sodhi and his group's escape from the Burmese soldiers runs parallel to the attack by the British bombers on Lt.Sodhi's unit. In 1944, the Indian National Army, tired, hungry, cold, feverish, sick had reached Imphal to defend it against all the odds piled heavily against them. In a school set up by Rani's grandmother, Old Sodhi finds the photograph of Maya and realizes that Maya has been dead. Old Sodhi, finally redeems himself by helping his young group safely cross over from Burma into India, and keep his promise to Maya that he would one day return to Burma to find her and be with her when his body is blown by the Burmese soldiers to ashes and glory.
Indian classical singer Radhe and pop star Tamanna. Despite their contrasting personalities, the two "set out together on a journey of self-discovery to see if opposites, though they might attract, can also adapt and go the long haul.
